The Waterslager Nature Center is a great place to explore the outdoors. They offer many programs for children and adults, as well as camps in the summertime. One of their most popular events is the night hikes on Friday evenings throughout the year. The Oenslager Nature Center is located in Wadsworth, Ohio. It has a variety of nature trails with boardwalks that allow visitors to see many different animals and plants up close. The center also offers bird-watching walks and programs for children during the school year, such as Animal Day Camps and Outdoor Explorers Club.

The Waderslagel Nature Society opened its doors as a nonprofit organization dedicated to education through interpretation back in 1977. The society hosts several programs throughout each year focused on environmental issues within our watersheds - including field studies, guest speakers, resident critter chats, storytimes, etc. They host a number of monthly events and outreach programs that are great for kids, adults & families.


The center is home to the Wadsworth Library's children's library, which includes an ever-expanding collection of nonfiction books on Ohio wildlife, ecology, and natural history written by local authors. The nature preserve encompasses over 500 acres with a self-guided hiking trail along the beautiful Rocky Fork Creek Gorge - housing many protected species such as eagles, herons, falcons, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, among others that call this area their home. There is also a bird blind located in the gorge used primarily during winter months when bald eagles can be spotted!
